Speed up your firefox, for real.

I test drove this, and it works well, I’ve had no problems with the operation of firefox since. So don’t just take my word for it, configure firefox yourself.

Step 1:
In your location bar, type about:config

Step 2:
In the filter bar type network.http.pipelining
Change the boolean value to become ‘TRUE’

Step 3:
In the filter bar again and type network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Change the value field from 4 to 8.

Step 4:
Go to the filter bar again and type network.http.proxy.pipelining
Change the boolean value to become ‘TRUE’

Step 5:
Go to the filter bar again and type network.dns.disableIPv6
Again, change the boolean value to become ‘TRUE’

Step 6:
Go to the filter bar again and type plugin.expose_full_path
Once again, we can change this value to become ‘TRUE’

Step 7:
Let’s create a new preference name
Right click > new > integer
The preference name will be nglayout.initialpaint.delay
The value for this preference will be 0

Step 8:
Create another preference name
Right click > new > integer
The preference name will be content.notify.backoffcount
The value for this preference will be 5

Step 9:
Create one mroe preference name
Right click > new > integer
The preference name will be ui.submenuDelay
The value for this preference will be 0

That’s it. Close firefox, and then restart it. Firefox will now operate faster (page load times!), you’ll be surprised.

I just did this the other day and it truly works. I had a problem when I downloaded vdownloader on a new computer and they snuck in the ASK toolbar. That is how I found out about how to fix my Firefox. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah watch for those toolbars. Especially ASK which is flagged as spyware. Malwarebytes will recognize it right away.

Thanks for the tip mate. It works! Firefox is now faster! Now that I've done it on my machine, its time to do it on 350++ at the office ;) . Will send admins the link to this article.

    Once again, thanks!

    Cheers,

Great find here. I use Firefox for most of my work on the Internet. Do you know of any side effects from changing all of these settings? How long have you been running it for with no problems.?

Zolex, I've used this tweak safely for about three months, as well as numerous friends and others. I've yet to hear of one issue or complication.
